LORRAINE MOROPA
Actress, Voice Over Artist and Law Student
Lorraine Moropa is a 28-year-old South African actress and voice over artist, born on the 31st of October 1996. She comes from the vibrant township of Daveyton in Ekurhuleni, East Rand.
Her educational journey began at Letsha Primary School and continued at Dinoto Technical Secondary School, where she studied commercial subjects until matric. Driven by a deep love for performance, Lorraine pursued her studies at CityVarsity, School of Media and Creative Arts. She graduated with a Diploma in Professional Acting for Theatre and Camera and earned distinction as one of the top three students in the Class of 2016.
During her time at CityVarsity, Lorraine majored in Voice and Presenting, which laid the foundation for her exceptional ability to use her voice as a powerful storytelling tool. Her training focused intensely on vocal performance, articulation, tone, and expression, allowing her to develop the skill set that now defines her voice over artistry.
Lorraine is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Arts in Law and is in her second last year of study. Her commitment to education reflects her passion for growth and empowerment beyond the entertainment industry.
She has appeared in a variety of acclaimed theatre productions including Sophiatown, U’Ya Bizwa, The Hat, Emotional Creatures, The Forbidden Knowledge, Strike Back, S.H.E. and Poetry Vs Sketching Hard.
Her commercial work includes major campaigns for First National Bank (NAV Car and Retail & Lending), Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, Clere and Five Roses Tea.
She has also featured in two student short films titled Vascular Dementia and Lemon Lemonades, where she demonstrated her emotional range and on-screen versatility.
In television, Lorraine has performed in numerous South African productions, including the telenovelas Lithapo and Hope, the popular soap opera The Queen, and drama series such as Guilt, Ikani, Housekeepers and more.
With a commanding voice, an expressive presence, and a growing legal education, Lorraine Moropa continues to evolve as one of South Africa’s most multifaceted and compelling talents.
